Conceived
as an episodic, or series of episodes or short films, The Match
chronicles the unfolding story of a student-run newmagazine at
an upscale private high school. |
|
As
teachers, students and alumni take sides, the new teacher (Mr.
Thompson) tries to balance his roles as faculty advisor, mentor
to the students and defender of journalism while contemplating
his future at the historic school... |

Conflicts
emerge between the students, led by the valedictorian and indomitable
editor Lora Tudor, and the faculty, led by the spineless administrator
Franklin Wilkie. The conflict boils over when a controversial
poetry reading triggers campus-wide war over freedom of speech,
and of the press. |
